Sardine Festival
A new venture in Brixham looked like it was a major success. Today was the first Brixham Sardine Festival. There was already a hungry queue when trawlers sounded their hooters at noon to signify the start. I don’t think anyone waited for grace to be said. There was a queue for £10 plates of sardines, and chilled white wine, all afternoon. In the town pasties and cream teas were rallying to overcome this trendy new competition. Jacqui was doing her conservation work, and I had a great walk to Brixham from Broadsands , where the coffee stop at Cafe Venus was particularly peaceful and relaxing. Extra
