Hydrangea
I had quite a bit of cooking to do today to use up garden produce and things in the fridge so that there would be no waste while we were away. I froze meals for us to come home to.
It was sunny and warm though there wasn’t much time to avail myself of the opportunity to lounge around and read my book as plants had to be dead-headed etc and house jobs done as well as washing.
We had a lovely FaceTime with Chloe and Graham who had good advice about places to see and walks to do in Germany, Italy and Croatia when we are away with the van in September, all being well with Mr C’s results. He will phone the consultant’s secretary tomorrow as we really need to be insured and know what’s going on.
We took Phil and Carol to Ailie’s for a meal. Chris, Sarah and Alan were also there. It was a lovely evening and we all had a jolly time.
#3 daughter and family left on the ferry for Amsterdam this afternoon. They’ll spend time in Belgium with friends till we all meet up near Trier on Friday. Meanwhile #2 and family have the fire on in southern Germany where it has rained for 3 days and is 12 degrees. This is madness when the Arctic Circle is 32. When will the world wake up?
