Sunflower

This afternoon we went to Venus Pool nature reserve.  We have never seen the water so low and large stretches of what is usually water is now dried mud.  Unsurprisingly there were very few birds around - just Canada and Greylag geese, one Egyptian goose and one young lapwing. We did have a fleeting glimpse of a green woodpecker in flight but no chance of a photo.

There were plenty of butterflies and flowers around and the sunflowers and other plants were looking good.
