Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2025 Friday — Early Morning Walk

Since the death of our little Mitzi on Monday afternoon, July 14, our sweet Chloe is struggling emotionally. She’s hardly eating and only drinking small amounts of water. It’s breaking my heart. I’m not ready for Chloe to exit earth. She is 18 months younger than Mitzi; she has not slowed down; she walks much longer distances than Mitzi was desiring to walk this past year. Chloe has lots of energy, and even though she appeared to never like Mitzi, she’s lost without her.

I realize that the beginning of the end starts when they become less active and when they lose weight. So her lack of appetite is a real concern for me.

We have loved being dog parents; we function best with the handle of our pup’s leash in my hand. Holding two leashes was always good. Holding three leashes was the best, but our little black Max, Mitzi’s husband, lost his life to liver disease in March of 2020.

This recent loss of Mitzi has certainly rocked our boat.
