Watching the early birds

Now a Scarborough landmark, the sculpture of Freddie by Ray Lonsdale, sits impassively on his giant bench on the North Bay watching the sun rise and the sun set, and the people go by.
I was up with the lark this morning to go down to the sea front for a sunrise walk, and a foggy morning it was too. But fog and mist can be the most atmospheric of conditions to find photos, so it was not a wasted wake up alarm.
Early morning in Scarborough is a wonderful time of peace, solitude, freshness, and that unique sunrise light. It feels like the world has been cleaned overnight, renewed for your new day, a time to breathe, and start the day 'properly'.
When I went to work, I occasionally got up early for some time at sunrise by the sea, and it was such a relaxing way to start the working day. Though I miss the old job, I can still enjoy the simple pleasure of early morning by the sea.
