By ORDER of the Constables…

I was completely blank about what I could find that fitted the theme ‘order’ and then I remembered this sign.Perfect! I just had to order my old knees to get themselves down the road to get a pic.
There are ten parishes in Guernsey and each parish has a Senior and Junior Constable plus a Douzaine (dozen) who are more or less the equivalent of a UK Parish Council.

My saying today is ‘a la perchoine’.,.
The saying "A la perchoine" originates from Guernésiais , a language spoken on the island of Guernsey. It is a friendly way of saying "until next time" or "until we meet again". It is a local variation of the French phrase "à la prochaine," which also means "until next time".

The phrase is a common and beloved part of Guernsey's cultural identity, often used as a farewell. It reflects the island's historical and linguistic ties to Normandy while also showcasing its unique local dialect.

A Le perchoine; see you all tomorrow!
