Floris

I spent a good few hours in the garden yesterday trying to protect my plants from the forecast ravages of Storm Floris. I'm not a big grower of roses but I have a couple and I rescued these buds and stuck them in a vase of unknown provenance   I've had the vase for decades and it is a handy size. 

There was heavy rain this morning but it's away now. The wind is certainly pretty rough but I imagine a lot worse further west. J and I had originally planned the Orkney trip for this week. We wouldn't have got to Thurso today because trains north of the Central Belt are stopping at midday. Thurso is a long way north of the Central Belt! We were so very fortunate with last week's good weather. 

We have an amber warning till 11:00pm which gives plenty of time for damage to occur. I just hope everyone stays safe. I've already decided to go to my yoga class online tonight rather than battle against the wind to get to the studio.
