Everyday Life

Keen and Curious

This morning the window cleaner came while I was eating a latish breakfast, having done yoga and made complicated healthy protein pancakes! (I still have to wash up...)

Minstrel had been asleep on the sofa beside me but as soon as he heard the squeak of the blade he was alert. For a change he didn't chase the Chamois, just watched from a distance in each room.

This morning I watched the tense finish of the test cricket match between England and India. Very entertaining, with England losing by 6 runs at the end. Chris Woakes went into bat with a dislocated shoulder. He didn't face a ball, but he was clearly in pain just from the running he had to do.

Well done to India for winning this one. The series ended a 2-2 draw, which I think fairly reflects the fiery contest between these two passionately competitive sides.

I went out for a walk and to buy milk later on. It felt quite autumnal, with grey skies and a strong, cool breeze. But as I write this the sun is out and I can hardly hear the wind blowing.

I hope those in the path of Storm Floris stay safe!
