Leaderfoot or Drygrange
Two names for the same place, south of Lauder in the Scottish Borders, a former railway viaduct over the River Tweed.
It has been a wild day so far: the first time we approached this viaduct for a Blip we were soaked by a sudden cloudburst and had to return to our caravan at Carfraemill to change trousers.
The second attempt was more successful and we had the opportunity to view the Trimontium Roman fort and surrounds – an amazing place, although most of course is underground or evidenced only by the remaining shapes of the ground.
In the Extra, another view of the viaduct: I love the solidity of such structures.
