Splash of Colour

Although I would not pretend that my eyesight is perfect, or even that good, I did spot this ladybird picked out by the afternoon sun as it crawled over some riverside vegetation.
Like butterflies, ladybirds seem to have been numerous this year, unlike last year in particular.
