The sound of chainsaws

as the storm crossed over the village taking precious Aspen trees with it. Two blocking the road holding up a number of vehicles one of which is our local bus. Also several casualties in the garden, thankfully all is quiet now. Neighbour D called up to raise awareness, he and John each with a chainsaw cut a way through as a group of young men, who appeared from nowhere, cleared the cut branches and debris. Amazing team work and the road was open again within half an hour, the bus could carry on. We wandered home for a cup of coffee feeling sad to loose these trees although John reminded me the community tree nursery is part of a project to grow more Aspen.
