Mares, Foals and Foaling

This book, by Friedrich Andrist, translated by Anthony Dent, was first published in Switzerland in 1950. It was a gift to me from sister Blipper 59 in 1971.

It contains such gems as, “The mare should never be brought into the stable sweating, and a little milk should be drawn off because hastily sucked milk from a hot udder is bad for small foals.”
