A Simple Day
Not much to say about today. The morning was spent at St Luke’s weeding and clearing under a surface drainage grille in front of the church extension hall’s new entrance. A glass-covered canopy has been being constructed there recently, so we couldn’t get near to tidy up until today. It looks great now. There’s a pretty rose bush growing over one of the graves in the churchyard, and my blip shows a perfect bloom on it with the church wall in the background.
I sat down for the afternoon to try and finish reading the novel for our book club meeting. Alas, I only got 2/3 of the way through. So I read a synopsis of the rest of the story in order to be able to take part in the discussion.
We had a great evening together, much to talk about all sorts as well as about the book (‘Circe’ by Madeline Miller), which had generally gone down very well. I shall finish reading it before returning it to the library.
So, unfortunately, no time for any sorting today but I will be back at it again this week.
