Carving out a Future
This Gambian Warrior usually stands outside our patio door, warding off evil spirits and, until recently, scaring off the birds since our cat was a silent assassin. I’ve had a Gambian connection for over 25 years with a charity I founded feeding and educating 90 young children every year. I have strong ties to a little parish in The Gambia too, and we still keep in touch.
This formidable lad was carved lovingly for Linda way back in 2003 and is still with us. Two storms ago he was blown over and his right arm broke off, but a handy friend has managed to repair him and returned him to us tonight. It’s good to have him home.
The extra tonight is mainly for lesmark who was looking forward to a grim picture of my meatballs!
