An ordinary life....

Storm Floris...

I know Storm Floris has wrecked havoc in parts of the country, but it was nowhere near as bad as was forecast in our neck of the woods, and I am very grateful.

There was a heavy downpour around lunch time, the rest of the time it was what I would call a bit breezy with blue skies and sunshine. Fluffy whit clouds too.  It was fun to watch them race across the sky.

Having been in my wheels a lot over the weekend my hip was protesting a bit so after lunch I took myself to my comfy chair and started crocheting a granny square cardi.  My first attempt at one of these and using yarn from my stash that wasn't expensive, so happy to experiment with it.

It amused me to see the colours of the yarn are very similar to the colour of the flowers our Skye friends sent us for our anniversary.  A happy coincidence :-)

Alan had a great hydrotherapy session and was very happy afterwards.  D arranged two rounds of golf for Wednesday and one for Thursday so he was also very happy.  I arranged lunch with friends on Monday so I am also happy :-))

Alan's pal Andrew was supposed to be here today but the storm scuppered that.  Put new dates in the diary for September so hopefully that will cheer him up.  He was very disappointed at not being able to visit.

Got word from my friend Mae that her little granddaughter has arrived in the world and she sent me some photos.  Baby Eliza, 8lbs 15oz, mum and baby doing well. She is absolutely gorgeous.  Mum and baby doing well.  Dad very proud and Gran is besotted.  I am so happy for them all.

The heart blanket is ready to send along with a children's book in the Scot's language (Mae will enjoy reading that to her and teaching her about her Scottish heritage :-) and a cuddly haggis should be here on Thursday to also be included.  I must remember to photograph the completed blanket before sending it.

Hopefully back to better weather tomorrow.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments, stars and hearts on our anniversary blip yesterday.  You are all so lovely x
