Bell Cherry
We left Tauranga this morning and headed along the coast heading for the Coromandel but stopped off at Sapphire Springs for the night. Rain is coming so we might stay here until it’s gone.
The bell cherry is in flower. This particular variety self seeds and has spread throughout the Tauranga region. It’s become a pest. There are patches of pink blossom everywhere. The tūīs love to feed from these flowers. There is now a new breed of Bell Cherry that doesn't produce seeds. I’ve got one in my garden.
