Basque coast

Another beach day, this time going to end if the Euskotren line to Bermeo which took ages but was very scenic. I’m not entirely sure how the barik card system works, I seem to have travelled a very long way for not more than a couple of euros.

The blip is one of the beaches, Aritxatxu, just outside Bermeo. I had intended to swim there however there was a fresh wind blowing and although there was a natural swimming pool it didn’t really appeal.
Later I hopped off the train at Sukarrieta by which time it was hot and sunny. I had a splendid swim in the estuary on the edge of marshland where I could see several egrets.
