The tortoise collection

Here is part of my Mother, Doris's, tortoise collection. Her neighbours' children always  used to bring her back a tortoise from their holidays; apparently it was a highlight of the holiday finding the perfect souvenir! Now I am splitting up the tortoise collection. Fortunately, Doris had labelled each one with its  donor's names, and there were at least six from the neighbours' children ( now all grown up!) which I shall return to them. I've already given their parents three.
I did some more sorting out and shredding while Martin did some tidying up of my mother's garden.
This afternoon, we visited A, a great friend of my Aunty's, and of my mother's, for a cup of tea, cake and chat.
A lovely  Prom concert on the radio  tonight, which included Elgar's Enigma Variations and Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending ,plus a new work by John Rutter.
