Fringe fun 2025

Today was earmarked for Fringe fun with the Foxes. We saw ten performances in total:

Racing Minds in a very silly, hilarious improvised play called The lost ark.
The plot focused on the disappearance of birds and animals from football team shields.

Merv Stutter's Pick of the Fringe with segments of seven shows, five of which we enjoyed (Alright sunshine, Chris Turner Spontaneous, Trace of belief, Please sir Glenn I have some Moore, Yes-Ya-Yebo - flyers all blipped), and two that were not to our tastes at all (Celtic roots: a musical journey back home and Stardust starring Star Dust (in person)).

Mitch Benn's excellent Lehrer effect

Ray O'Leary's Laughter? I hardly know her. This started late due to delays in an earlier show, but was well worth the wait.

The biggest surprise for me was how much I enjoyed the Taiwanese classical dance performed by Chun Dance in Trace of belief, especially after hearing that it was about 'collective ritual, individual will and spirituality' to consider the question 'What anchors our faith in an ever-changing world' in a long, wordy introduction that sounded like it had been written by ChatGPT.

After all our trekking between Bristo Square and the Pleasance over the course of the day, we ended our Fringe Binge with supper at the City Restaurant followed by last night's Only connect when we returned home.

I have blipped the flyers of the shows that we enjoyed at the Pick of the Fringe. I took the photograph when we stopped for coffee in the Black Medicine Coffee Co this afternoon.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; walking (11,750 steps).
