Ringed Plover

A couple of hours by Birsay Bay. I thought that there would be big waves after Storm Floris, and there were, but not as big as I'd expected. A few waders about- ringed plovers, sanderlings, turnstones. No purple sandpipers yet. When I got home from North Ronaldsay on Sunday, and was looking at my day's photos on the computer, I realised that I had caught a purple sand when taking a shot of some turnstones.
