Trixie's Adventures

St Clement and Malpas

Back into our routine now, after coming back from our hols, so on Ann's days off from work we're going to be continuing on with our 'I Walk Cornwall' walks. Today we did walk no. 83. We went to Boscawen Park in Truro and walked across the fields and through the woods to St Clement and then walked back along the creek to Malpas and Boscawen Park.
We walked just over 4 miles and although it was a hot day, it was nice and cool on our walk because we were mainly walking through woods.

It was weird though. The car park at Boscawen Park was full and we had to squeeze into a spot on the side of the road, but we haven't a clue where all the people were. Well actually we have..................... they were in the cafe and in the park. We hardly ever meet people on our walks. Ann says she could trip and fall and break her leg and lie injured for days before anyone would find her. Honestly she's such a drama queen.

Anyway it was a lovely walk and quite easy too. No steep ups or downs.

Oh, and one of the reasons Ann chose to go there for our walk................ our friend never replied to our messages last night asking if she wanted to go walking she wanted to pop into the factory shop at Scorrier to buy a pair of black Sketchers trainers (because, they are the comfiest shoes in the world) and she wears them for work when she's on her feet for a 5 hr shift. The factory shop sells trainers at hugely discounted prices, so today she bought a pair that cost £45 (RRP £70) and then when she went to pay for them, the assistant asked if she was over 60? Ann thought it was a bit of a strange question but said, 'yes she was', and she got another 10% off. How good was that? Plus, because she has a loyalty card, she gets a scratch card every time she buys something and after she'd scratched away at it, it entitled her to another £5 off. Yay! Definitely worth going via the factory shop to my walk. And because she knew exactly what she wanted, I only had to wait in the car for about 5 mins.

After lunch and a little snooze for both of us, I went for a little toileting trek around the field and on the way home, guess what I found in our car park?.................... a manky old tennis ball. Yay! Haven't a clue where it's come from because it wasn't there when I went out. I've brought it into the house and I'm using it as a pillow while I'm having another snooze. (See extras) If Ann tries to take it off me I will wake up and quickly clench it between my jaws, even though she says I can keep it.

….............And that's been our day. Tomorrow we were thinking of doing a 6 mile walk up at 'Harlyn Bay' but that involves going past Newquay and with more than 56,000 people descending on the town for the 'Boardmasters', I think we're going to choose somewhere else for our walk. Lol!!!
