Mother Eider

Mother eider was showing a couple of chicks some feeding techniques at the Pool of Virkie this afternoon. The chicks seemed to be doing quite well and she looks pleased with herself.
Very windy day at Sumburgh Head with no Puffins seen on the cliffs but did see one flying off the east side of the head. Not that many birds on land but at least the Lighthouse (extra) was still there. If I ever get to Sumburgh Head and Lighthouse isn't there I will be worried!!
