Bishop’s Dining Room
M and I had some things to do in Norwich today. With it being school holidays it was very busy indeed. M bought some of those necessary clothing items that M&S are useful for, pyjamas, socks etc etc. The store is having a sale and whilst M did very well in finding bargains I found the large quantity of rails stuffed with so many clothes rather overwhelming so I gave up.
We punctuated our shopping with lunch as we were not going to be home until too late to cook dinner. This is Bishop’s Dining Room and Bar, in the Lanes area of Norwich. It’s a little gem. From the frantic shopping centre it’s like stepping into a haven of peace & calm. It’s quite small, just a handful of tables, each with a tiny vase of fresh flowers, a limited but imaginative menu and an excellent and varied wine list. Sadly, it’s up for sale (as a restaurant) but happily the talented chef is staying on but I just hope it doesn’t lose its hospitable charm.
Please excuse the poor perspective, I’m not very tall and only had my phone camera.
