Idle time

Today I came down with a cold! And this is where I spent a fair amount of the day.
Lonny needed some help getting a document ready for sending out. As usual I fixed the initial problem fairly quickly but then there "just one more" glitch to fix; the page numbers weren't showing. We worked on that for about an hour, via Zoom, but we couldn't make them appear on all pages. Finally Lonny sent me the document so I could try to figure out an answer in my own computer. After another hour or so I worked out the document had been put together from a number of older, similar, files with much cutting and pasting of different elements. This had created some very strange formatting that was hiding those page numbers in places. Finally the page numbers appeared reliably. I really enjoy the process of working out the problem, and the solution, otherwise I wouldn't do it, especially with a cold making me a bit slow!
I also did a fair bit of sorting in my computer, throwing away some ancient documents, photos and films that concerned the work used to do, eight years ago. Being off-colour meant I could do some of this rather mindless sorting. Now there's a bit more room on my hard drives and cloud.
