Gijon
With wind and rain overnight we took the opportunity for a later start.
We muddled our way onto the train (I much prefer being able to speak the language), a 20 minute commuter trip. Rua wasn't too keen on the way there but on the return leg she slept like a baby.
Gijon is an interesting city, it was a massive industrial city with a working port, oil refinery, steelworks and more. Two beaches and a big marina plus the old city make it a busy spot now, but not a big tourist hotspot. It was interesting to see, and we avoided the heat of the day well.
At the top of the city the old fortified area has been refurbished into an indoor/outdoor airy sports area and skate park.
