Overtaken, then lapped!

A perfect day for a race out of Whitehaven on Edward's beautiful 'Blueberry'. Not so fast as usual as she was hampered with a weedy bottom and a crew member with a related affliction. I had not understood that the toilet, perfect in every other way, only works on a starboard tack and thus holding on throughout a long port tack can lead to disastrous consequences. Edward, always a gentleman, hove to and his two lady crew made all haste to take advantage of the facility. This did cost us a place in the race, although nothing could have been done to stop 'Moonstruck' from being first!
