Xena and Meriel

Lovely summer weather today, at last! It has been sunny with blue skies all day. We went to get some fresh groceries this morning, then we walked Xena. It got rather hot on the walk.

We had a quick lunch at home before going to the station to collect Meriel, who had arrived from Paris by train. She said the journey was lovely and very efficient. 

Gavin went to wash the car while Meriel and I took Xena for a long walk, and here is a photo of them on our walk.

By the time we got back our friends David and Jane had arrived, with Astra their dog. Xena and Astra took a while sniffing each other but they have settled into an ease with each other now.

Luke arrives later tonight, much later as his flight has been delayed :(
