Rainham Marshes: Approaching Touchdown
More flare/flair in large
Extra: Heron with fish
I had to go to Trust headquarters for another presentation of the review that I co-led... Last month was meant to be the final decision and sign-off on the recommendations that we made, but a decision couldn't be made, so it took a few more strange steps (and an 'extraordinary decision meeting') before getting final sign-off today.
Phew! I went to RSPB Rainham Marshes on my way in, and the final sign-off feels like a landing of sorts (and 95% successful, as I see it), although there is (of course) more work yet to do.
I didn't even post an entry after last month's (similar) meeting, partly because it was disappointing and discombobulating, and partly because driving home turned into a complete mission: a journey that usually takes 1hr-1hr30mins (1hr5mins today) became a 11hr45min fiasco after the Dartford Crossing (well, QE2 bridge) was closed, and I got stuck in gridlock in Essex, and sat still on a slip road for 9 hours... I finally got home at 2:15AM after setting out at 2:30PM the previous afternoon.
Others here (or right from Heron)
