Breaking for freedom
Another dull day at work - though again I was able to make a code change for the client which seemed to work perfectly well on the first try. I found out that another piece of code (not mine) had an unstable sort so was returning random data which is not so good. Finally I made some more small changes to another report I started on a couple of days ago.
While I was working I upgraded an old laptop from Debian 12 to Debian 13 and fixed a network problem for good this time (the hardware doesn't reliably connect at top speed but is fine at one tenth top speed). I then started a second laptop on the same path. We don't use these laptops any more, but for the last 3 upgrade cycles I've updated them in case we need them for anything. Neither were worth giving away 6 years ago when we stopped using them and now they are just plain obsolete - in fact one of them was destined for landfill when I was given it and it's amazing I was able to eke out another couple of years of service from it.
Today's blip is a blip trying to escape a garden - after I took my four legged friend for his walk. Interestingly the hippodrome was relatively clean of horse poo, which is good as alas it's a favourite of my companion. He had a good time running about and sniffing for things and much prefers the hippodrome to the town walks which are much more dull to a little poodle.
