Singing again
Back at it at the Genedlaethol Eisteddfod 2025 in Wrexham, with a challenging set for the Soprano/Alto choir competition.
Y March Glas by Jayne Davies
O Serch (Welsh version of O Love) by Elaine Hagenberg
Tân (Fire) by Katerina Gimon
Gwenllian by Eric Jones
First on stage and sang our hearts out. Audience were very appreciative.
Then a 2 hour wait for the adjudication. Which meant shopping and lunch.
Our set is exhausting and I was starving. Breakfast was at 6.30am! Pepperoni pizza from one stall and an apple and cinnamon crepe for afters. And a much needed tea.
Bought a beautiful Welsh 2026 calendar, a lovely necklace by Buddug, and what you see in the blip. A commemorative ceramic bauble celebrating the National Eisteddfod being held in Wrexham. I love that it is covered in Welsh Ladies, for me signifying the Welsh ladies choir I sing with.
So adjudication, a comprehensive constructive adjudication for our set. Things we suspected and need to work on, but acknowledging the challenging pieces and varied programme. After all the choirs had their adjudication, 1st and 2nd place were read out and our hopes, to place began to slide ... Oh well we tried ... PLOT TWIST!!! We came THIRD, OMG we were so excited I think they heard us cheering in the car park. We've had so many lovely comments and congratulations. Our prize ... £400.
Buzzing and now for a rest for a few weeks .
