The show must go on

Today F went to a railway meet near Bridgnorth. I can never turn down a trip when it''s offered so I spent the time at Dudmaston Hall, a National Trust property.  I had been before but there are  some good walks and a lake and brook as well as the gardens.

It was mostly sunny but windy and showery too.  During a heavy shower I sat in a summer house until it passed and was interested to watch a group of people fighting the wind to erect a tent.  When it was done they unloaded costumes and scenery to put inside. I particularly liked the deer costume complete with antlers.

Of course I had to ask them about it and they were an outdoor theatre group that were due to perform Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor in the parkland tonight.  They were very friendly and told me all about their productions.

F picked me up and we called in at Bridgnorth for something to eat .  On the way home we popped in to Venus Pool Nature Reserve. There were a group of Egyptian geese (extra) that seem to be increasing in number.  We also had a glimpse of a grass snake before it disappeared into the undergrowth.
