Ouch

Another of the old cherry trees in the park was destroyed by Floris. I haven't seen many felled trees but there are a lot of large, old ones which have split like this or lost very large branches, this seems to th epattern with summer gales.
I didn't go on my bike to the walk this morning, strong winds were forecast for when I was to come home (though they actually came a bit later) and there was a heavy shower just as I would have been leaving, which confirmed my decision to go by car. I also ended up having to bring something home that wouldn't have fitted on the bike.
The sun was shining by the time the walk was underway and has been out much of the day, so I had to go into the garden this afternoon. I did some pot-washing and tidying of the growhouse and sowed some late veg seeds.
I made the tea and put it in the oven timed to come on so it would be ready for us coming home from a club training session in the park - and I got the settings right, which was a relief.
