NYMT 2025

Big day for the girl. She's been a bit nervous about today. It's her first day at National Youth Music Theatre. She's in the band for their production of Tuck Everlasting. Playing bassoon. And clarinet. And bass clarinet. And tenor sax.

We started our day with a morning swim. I felt we might both benefit from stretching our bodies a bit before all the day had in store. I was more right than I even knew and we had a gorgeous time. Breakfast. Packing up. Goodbye to J. Hit the road. Buy the things she'd forgotten.

The journey was fine, though we'd used most of our slack by adding in the swim. She was definitely nervous as we struggled to find much of anything that she wanted for lunch. She didn't want what we'd packed. There weren't many quick options near the school and none she fancied.

Drop off was very quick. She dismissed me almost immediately. Thankfully she'd seen a face from school, albeit not there on her course.

By the time I stopped for tea on my way home, she'd declared it all to be really good, the people really nice and the food AMAZING. She seemed very happy!
