Star Magnolia

I skipped yoga for a walk with my buddy down the highway, along the river and up to the Vietnamese greengrocers. They had emu eggs! A half dozen big dark green lightly speckled ones the size of very large avocados. What do you do with them, I asked? Same as ordinary eggs, the staff member said.

Flowers are scarce around here. The star magnolia only had a few flowers, too high up, so I shamelessly snapped one off.
