Wound up in Wexford

Bracket fungus

We had a day in the garden.  I did some weeding, and planted some newly acquired plants - mainly around the pond.

W did some tidying up around our young trees - adding protection against Husky, and clearing grass, to allow space for them to grow.

W also worked in his workshop for a while - he's making a light box for my sewing room.

This very large bracket fungus is growing on one of the ash trees on the ditch alongside the composting area.  There are quite a few, and they're showing signs of die back, sadly.  Responsibility for them is divided between ourselves and our neighbours - it's going to be an awkward negotiation when/if one or more of them needs to be cut down.
