Barlettina Sordida

At YorkGate for the lunch and afternoon shift.
As l arrived l could see it was busy with people queueing outside the cafe.
We never stopped , sold out of the original specials and the kitchen had to come up with some new ones with whatever fresh ingredients were on offer.
We don’t have time for a break but can have drinks while we work and can bring a slice of cake home after we finish.
The other volunteers do get their refreshments taken out to them and that was one of my jobs.
I passed this plant as l did my rounds and took a quick snap, the colour was amazing, so striking. I don’t think l have ever seen it before.

Brought my cake home, a huge slice of coffee cake , will save half for tomorrow.
