Are You Talking to Me?
I got to stay in bed until 8:30. Hooray. Momma was more alert today. We prepared the house for Sugar’s visit. She will be allowed in all the rooms where I can see her - a large area actually. I had a note from Lauren when I woke up. Isla had another seizure around midnight; an ambulance took her and Lauren to the hospital. She tested positive for the rhinovirus and her temp got to 102°F. It’s 2:30 pm. Jamie just texted to say the doctors will transfer her to Children’s Hospital in Virginia Beach via helo. I guess this seizure was worse than previous ones. Maybe specialists there can provide more insight. Speaking of insight, my sister is having a procedure today so doctors can have a look/see also. That’s why Sugar is visiting. Waiting to hear how everything went. They had to go to an office 1.5 hours away and the procedure may take five hours. Sugar would have been miserable home alone that long. We love seeing her; having her around brings smiles to all. I took Mackenzie home after Parker arrived from NC. He has some landscaping jobs to do this weekend. After dropping Mack off, I picked up 12 kale plants, a huge cantaloupe and a half peck basket of peaches. They are nice and firm but will soften up in a few days. Might have to make a crisp. My BIL Roger dropped off more of Momma’s stuff that had been at his house including months of mail. Hubby started sorting it and realized Momma had to go to our post office and sign more papers so her mail can be delivered here. The USPS is the epitome of messed up organizations. We were assured we had completed all steps to successfully have her mail delivered at our home. Hubby is confident this time. We are now attempting to convert her expiring drivers’ license to an official id card. Hope that process is easier. My sister and BIL made our day. They will take care of Momma so we can camp in September. We’d already paid to stay and it is non-refundable. We are so excited. Guess I should start menu planning. We are watching Little League playoffs. Winner between MD and PA will go to the World Series. So glad Jamie fixed us up so Momma can watch sports. She is much calmer today. Wishing you calmness as we near another weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. "Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift." - MARY OLIVER
