Kalmar Cityfestival
Kalmar celebrates its annual city festival this weekend. Most things are free, except for the food and amusement park. Had I still been working, I would have started work on Monday, the summer holiday would be over.
The real reason for my visit was that I wanted to see a performance at "Byteatern", the same theatre as I visited yesterday. The play is a Swedish adaptation of an English play written by Duncan Mcmillan called "Every brilliant thing", about a girl living with her father and a suicidal mother. To handle her life she starts writing lists of every brilliant thing she can think of, like No.1: Ice cream. A very moving play, full of joy and sadness and audience participation. I loved it.
After the play I had something to eat in this brilliant and warm summer eventing, at a calm restaurant in the guest-harbour and then went to the city center where the crowds and the entertainment and loud music was. It's definitely no place for me anymore and I didn't even know any of the bands playing. The main and the first extra shows a bit of the hecticness and the second extra is a classic picture of the castle on my way to the car, not more than ten minutes from the crowds in the center.
I was greeted by a lovely full moon when I got home to my peaceful place on earth.
