Cotswolds
A welcome day out to visit family in the Cotswolds.
Lunch at one of our favourites, the very charming Fleece at Bretforton, then on to another beautiful little village about half an hour away (rather not divulge where)
Himself has been coming here to visit his extended family since he was a lad and since that time the cottage has been transformed and very sympathetically renovated, having been handed down a generation.
After a warm welcome, as always, we caught up on family happenings & events since Covid, while putting away some delicious home baking & pots of tea.
We left with promises not to leave so long and punnets of Victoria plums from the orchard (my favourite).
A lovely day, only slightly dampened by roadworks and traffic delays at almost every turn - anyone would think it's Summer ;)
Extra: Over the River Avon & The Royal Shakespeare Theatre (right)
Amazing what you see from the ladies loo window :)
Fox's, Ducks & the Hare.
