Early

Had a bit of a lie in but my young padawan and I headed into the office early for the final day of our training programme.

But beforehand we met with our investor's Head of ESG to catch up and discuss the goings on. He was diplomatic to start with but gradually we got it out of him that things are very toxic at a global level. It confirms to me that this business is going nowhere fast.

The last day of our training programme was good and our investor's Head of ESG spoke on their perspective. He also said a few kind words about me and the work that I've done. I caught the eye of my young padawan at the back of the room and she was looking emotional.

We handed out the awards and then had a group photo taken at head office. The clown decided to come out and try and ingratiate himself with the cohort, but they know he is a clown.

My young padawan wrapped the day up and I am so proud of her. Although I know today is the last time I will see her present and it fills me with great sadness.

We went for a walk later and she asked how I was feeling, I said it was hard and she said it was hard for others as well, with a hint that her voice cracked at that point.

I tried to do some work after but the atmosphere in the office is dreadful, so I booked an earlier train and headed home. I apologised to my young padawan for leaving, but she understood.

Today I am thankful for:

1. The amazing performance by my young padawan and friendship
2. The great cohort of people on our final training programme
3. A good catch up with our investor's Head of ESG
