An Early Grey
Xylocampa areola
I was all set to blip a wildflower today till I saw this attractive moth on the front door. If it is an Early Grey (I'm not sufficiently knowledgeable to be certain) I know it's common and widespread but I don't remember noticing one before. Maybe someone can let me know if I've identified it correctly.
Out this morning to do a stint of community gardening. The planters by the river are being given a makeover later in the month. I mean the structures - they're going to be rubbed down and repainted/varnished. In preparation they need to be emptied. The planter I look after needs a bit of tlc. The perennials I put in three years ago have done well and now need to be divided. Digging them out wasn't a pleasant job. I'm filthy! Once the work has been done I'll replant and till then I'll look after the vegetation at home.
Going to a virtual Book Festival event this afternoon then it's pizza night here.
