Butterfly Conservation are reporting far more sightings in this year's Big Butterfly Count, compared with last summer's count.

A good rule of thumb...

When at rest, a moth's wings fold down over their bodies, so their wing tops are visible. Whereas, a butterfly will fold its wings over its body, so the undersides are visible. However, there are always exceptions to rules....in warm weather, butterflies often bask with wings outstretched....
