Spice up your life...

We forgot to set any phone alarms when we went to bed last night.  As a result I woke up dazed and confused thinking it must be before 7.30am as neither alarms had gone off, then I checked my phone and it was 9.05am!  I was further confused by the fact D was still in bed.  He's usually up by 7.30am, 8am at the latest.  It was quite nice actually.  Nothing to rush for so no panic :-)

I made up for it by having a productive afternoon.

First of all I made Empire Biscuit dough.  It's resting in the fridge as I won't actually make the biscuits till tomorrow evening as they're for Ele, Gail and Natalie on Monday.  I wanted to be a step ahead as we're having lunch with John and Norma tomorrow.  Not seen them for a few weeks.  Alan is very excited about them coming :-)

After I cleared up the Empire biscuit paraphernalia I made something I've wanted to make for a long time but have never gotten round to, my own cajun spice mix.  It smells fab!  Having it over homemade potato wedges with garlic buttered steak and roasted broccoli.  Fingers crossed it tastes as good as it smells :D

This afternoon I managed to get two more paintings done for P's project.  I will try and get some more painted before we head to the outer Hebrides at the end of the month but I have three roof slates to paint for our Skye friends that I will take with me, so need to make a start on them.  

Still need to back blip our Skye friends' visit but plan for tonight is dinner then watch a film, so suspect it won't be tonight.  Oh well, there's always tomorrow :-))
