Raking it in….
A day of cattle work again.
Hauled 4 loads of weaned heifers up to the hill, 2 loads of bullock calves to a field next door and sorted out 15 of the biggest of them to sell at Stirling next week.
By the time I had all that done it was 3 pm, too late for breakfast so settled for late lunch instead.
Then headed off down the road to feed the heifers . The contracting team in calling and wrapping the grass I cut on Thursday . It was very windy and whenever they rowed up the grass in front of the baler it blew away so they ended up going across the rows to get it done. Not ideal, but needs must.
Back home and the water problems continue. Will need to try and shift cattle about tomorrow as the spring supply isn’t enough to keep up with their demands. Problem is there isn’t even enough water going down the burns to satisfy them all either.
The joys ….
