Team Tuck
The cast, band and crew of Tuck Everlasting.
Rehearsal week done.
Over now to Birmingham for production week ahead of the European premiere on Thursday for this show.
I picked a very grumpy girl up at just after 3pm. We wrestled everything to the car and when it was all packed, she gave me a big hug. By the time I'd fed her wedges and ice cream from the services, she was a chatty girl. Until she crashed deeeeeeep asleep.
We drove to our hotel and dumped all the valuables. We drove back to Southend then. I had misguided expectations of the beach and we were both very disappointed! But we pottered, trying to find the sparkly in a rather overwhelming. Even the Seafront donuts let us down! But the reason we were in Southend was to spend an evening with my niece and her husband. This happened. And this was lovely. I have not been to their house before, I haven't spent grown up time like that with them for a very long time. Also, she'd baked impressive biscuits. It was good. Much laughter, much honest chatter. Good family time.
The return to our hotel was pretty stressful. Our room is directly above the bar. Which it turns out had a first very loud disco then karaoke. Until 12.30am.
Totally worth it. Tomorrow we see them again and take my great nephews to the farm park!
