An allotment day
I managed a couple of hours in the morning and then Judy and I headed up for another couple of hours in the evening as well. So we are getting stuff done. :-)
The peas and chard that we planted earlier in the week are looking settled. I had remembered the string so the peas now have something to climb up and I did some initial training.
I took some time to wander around the site. The fruit crops are amazing this year - the pear tree belongs to a friend, but it is sad to see the empty plot with nothing happening. This plot has had a couple of tenants in last two years, but neither of them have made a go of it.
In the evening session, I cleared the saffron bed and have brought the saffron corms home to sort out. I'm planning to replant the biggest ones and wondering if it is worth trying to grow on some of the smaller ones.
