The Mousetrap
This is another, "35 years ago" memory. It was 35 years ago this month that I went to the St. Martin's Theater in London to see Agatha Christie's famous play, The Mousetrap. It had opened in 1952 and is still running there today! I stayed at Dukes Hotel which has a rich history. Dukes London is famous for its connection to Ian Fleming and the James Bond character, with Dukes Bar being the inspiration for Bond's signature martini. The theater was a lavish affair, quite different from the little Barnstormer's Theater in Tamworth, NH which is celebrating its 95th year but we had a wonderful time, and the play was beautifully produced. After an early dinner, we returned to my little farmhouse. Not exactly Dukes but it does nicely for me.
