The covered arcades of Bern

One of the many great things about the historical centre of the Swiss capital is the promenades or covered arcades which line the old city streets.

There are an eclectic mix of shops here from the Metzgerei to the Juwelierladen and everything in between. Numerous restaurants and pavement cages can be found here as well. I love walking round these arcades when in the city and they are especially useful when the weather is wet, like today.
