Wound up in Wexford

Popular spot for a souvenir photo

We spent another day in Wexford.

First thing, we went to the Instrument makers village.  And the very best of the day was the first one we called into.  Lorcan, talking about his product, the Mitchell drum.  And very interesting he was.

In another shop we bought a CD being sold to raise music for Aid to Palestine.  And generally enjoyed seeing the many instruments.

After that, we set off to walk down the main street.  Stopped to watch a lovely enthusiastic clown making balloon sculptures.  He was speaking Irish, but I suspect with a distinct "English" accent, and frequently throwing in bits in English!  The kids were loving him.  His most ambitious product in extras.

We walked on down the main street - buskers everywhere.  Including a dance group.

Our destination was a small area advertised as a craft market - we found it, but were very disappointed - not my idea of a craft market at all!

Then down onto the quay, where, after coffee and cake, we walked out to the harp.  Last year, a temporary installation was very popular, so this year they've installed a permanent sculpture.  Though it remains to be seen how well it stands up to the weather in such an exposed location.

Back to a makers shop, where we found a rather nice fridge magnet as a souvenir of the week.

Late lunch of hotdog/pizza, before going back to the park and ride.  Final destination of the day - the supermarket for some essential food purchases.
