If like me you have been wondering what is growing in these purple and white fields. While driving to Chelmsford, I spotted a field of flowers and had to check them out. They are Phacelia tanacetifolia, commonly known as Lacy Phacelia, Fiddleneck, or Scorpion Weed. These plants are green manure and pollinator plants.and are drought-tolerant and thrive in a sunny position.
